Cooked in front of your guests
The oven is part of the reception, not hidden in a service kitchen. Pizzas come out in rounds all evening, sliced onto boards, so people eat when they are hungry rather than when the run sheet says so.
Weddings
A wood-fired oven at your reception, cooking in front of your guests. Relaxed enough for a backyard, good enough for the day itself.
Not every wedding wants a plated three-course sit-down. A wood-fired oven puts the food where the party is: guests drift over between speeches, take a slice straight off the peel and go back to talking. Nothing goes cold under a cloche, and nobody waits for their table to be served.
We bring the whole setup — the oven on its trailer, the fire, the benches, the boards — and cook continuously for as long as the reception runs. Joe has been doing this across Sydney for years, in backyards, on farms, in function rooms with the oven parked outside the roller door.
What you get
The oven is part of the reception, not hidden in a service kitchen. Pizzas come out in rounds all evening, sliced onto boards, so people eat when they are hungry rather than when the run sheet says so.
Canapés during photos, mains after the speeches, dessert pizzas when the cake goes out — tell us the shape of the day and we cook to it. We are set up and up to temperature well before the first guest is served.
Garlic and herb pizzas to start, then classics like Margherita, Capriciosa and Supreme, plus whatever combination you want built for you. Vegetarian is on the standard menu, not an afterthought.
Nutella and strawberry pizzas late in the night, when everyone swears they could not eat another thing and then does.
The oven arrives on its own trailer and leaves the same way. No kitchen access needed, no gas lines, nothing for the venue to provide but a flat spot to park.
Before you book
A flat area roughly the size of a car, with room to work alongside it. Driveways, lawns, courtyards and car parks all work. If the reception is indoors, the oven sits outside and we carry the boards in.
Small backyard weddings through to large receptions. We serve in continuous rounds rather than one big drop, which is what keeps a big crowd fed without a queue forming. Tell us your guest number and Joe will tell you honestly whether it works.
Every wedding is quoted individually — the number of guests, how long we cook for and where the venue is all move the price. There is no per-head figure on this site because a real one depends on all three.
As early as you can. Saturdays through spring and autumn go first. If your date is close, ask anyway — it is worth a phone call.
Where we travel
The oven travels on its own trailer, so it comes to you. These are the areas we cover most often — if your suburb is not listed, ask anyway.
We cover all Sydney Metro — and we have travelled further afield for the right event.
How it works
Send through your date, location and rough guest numbers using the booking form — it takes two minutes.
Every event is quoted individually, based on your guest numbers, menu and where you are.
Once you are happy with the quote we confirm the booking and the timings for the day.
We arrive, set up the oven and cook to order for as long as your event runs.
Testimonials
“I highly recommend Joe’s wood fired Pizzas. Joe will turn up and start churning out delicious, authentic Italian pizzas for as long as your party lasts. He is not afraid of a proper Latin party lasting well into the early hours, and quite possibly until daybreak. Joe has some serious party-time stamina and he comes prepared with generous supplies of lovingly home-made pizza dough. He will provide you with breakfast Nutella pizzas at 6am if you let him. Book him, pour him a couple of glasses of good Italian wine, and you will get the best, crunchiest, fluffiest pizza your guests have ever tasted.”

All Sydney Metro · Passione Italiana
Yes — the oven travels across all Sydney Metro, from the Eastern Suburbs and the Inner West out to the Hills District, the Northern Beaches, Western Sydney and the Sutherland Shire. We have also travelled further for the right event; ask and we will tell you straight away whether we can get there.
Yes. We do not need the venue kitchen at all — the oven is self-contained on its trailer. Most venues just need to know where we will park and that we are cooking with wood.
Yes. Custom pizzas are made to order on the night, and we are happy to build a couple of combinations with you beforehand so they are on the board for your guests.
Vegetarian pizzas are on the standard menu. Tell us about any other requirements when you book and Joe will let you know what he can do — we would rather be honest up front than surprise somebody on the day.
Yes, and it is one of the best times to. A round of pizzas after the dancing has started is usually the food people remember.
